To ensure the success of DTB’s clients and internal teams, it is essential to provide high-quality documentation that enhances the usability, adoption, and impact of our developer tools, particularly the ComponentOne suite.
This role exists to:
- Strengthen Developer Tools Bhutan’s reputation for technical excellence by delivering documentation that meets or exceeds global industry standards.
- Ensure developers can confidently and efficiently leverage the full capabilities of our products through clear, structured, and accessible technical content.
- Support cross-functional collaboration by maintaining up-to-date documentation protocols and standards that reflect software evolution and user needs.
- Contribute to a culture of excellence and shared learning by mentoring junior writers, promoting documentation best practices, and proactively refining internal processes.
Scope of Work
The Technical Writer (Mid-Level) is responsible for planning, developing, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that supports DTB’s product suite, particularly the ComponentOne (C1) family of developer tools.
Reporting to the Tech Lead and Product Owner (PO), this role involves working closely with developers, QA, and product stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with the needs of professional software developers. The role also includes assisting in protocol development, knowledge sharing, and internal team enablement.
This is a key contributor role with growth potential for individuals who demonstrate strong technical depth, initiative, and a collaborative mindset
Key responsibilities include:
Technical Documentation
- Create technical documentation such as user guides, API references, how-to guides, and conceptual overviews for developer audiences.
- Translate complex software features into structured, accessible, and developer-friendly content.
Research, Testing, and Validation
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and the PO to understand product functionality and upcoming changes.
- Test product features to validate documentation accuracy and usability.
Protocol and Standards Development
- Help maintain and evolve the documentation protocol and style guide to ensure alignment with product complexity and user needs.
- Support the team in standardizing terminology, templates, and processes across projects.
Mentorship and Collaboration
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring junior technical writers or interns.
- Share documentation insights and practices with the wider development and support teams.
- Foster a team culture of continuous learning, quality improvement, and collaboration.
Content Maintenance and Delivery
- Keep documentation current with software releases and updates.
- Use appropriate content management systems and version control to manage content lifecycles and collaborative workflows.
Feedback and Process Improvement
- Gather feedback from users and internal teams to refine documentation quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, team practices, and cross-team communication.
Qualification / Experience
EDUCATION
- A degree/diploma in IT-related field
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical writing or related technical communication roles.
- Experience working in or alongside software development teams, preferably in an Agile or DevOps environment.
- Proven ability to write for technical/developer audiences with clarity and precision. (Confirmed through existing portfolio and/or the results of skills assessment administered by DTB.)
- Prior exposure to .NET development tools or enterprise-grade components is a strong advantage.

Salary & Others Benefits
- Starting salary: BTN 55,000–75,000/month (negotiable based on skills and experience).
